Amazon Smile wish lists allow you to give a gift of a much needed item directly to our wards. These gifts have been chosen by our staff and will make a real difference for our patients.
Avon 4 is a ward which specialises in elderly care. Their patients can be very anxious when they come into hospital and this can often have an impact on their recovery.
This wish list allows for you to give a gift of a much needed item directly to the ward which will make a real difference for patients.
The items can help to:
The Neonatal Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital accept babies from 27 weeks gestation. Babies are cared for in the neonatal unit if they require intensive or high dependency care.
We also have a transitional care unit for babies and mums being prepared to go home. The length of time a baby will spend on the unit could be anything from a few days to several months. Additionally we have a small flat for parents to stay in overnight if their baby is really ill, or they live a distance away.
It is important to us that not only are the babies well cared for on our unit but the parents and siblings are supported too: so our wish list is comprised of items that we will make our unit as welcoming and comfortable as we can for families as well as their babies.
The Play Team consist of Healthcare Play Specialist’s who are trained to carry out therapeutic play techniques to support children and young people in hospital.
The Team helps children and young people understand their illness and treatment as well as help relieve worry or stress during their stay.
The items on this wish list provides materials, toys and therapeutic items which will be used by the Team to help patients in our hospitals.
Our hospitals Palliative Care team is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide holistic care, advice and support across the Trust.
The team take an individual approach to care, offering help in managing complex symptoms and providing psychological, social and spiritual support.
Their aim is to enhance the care given to patients receiving palliative and end of life care in our hospitals, their families and loved-ones.
The items on this list will improve palliative care patient experience when being cared for in our hospitals, sometimes it is the small things that make a big difference.
Being in hospital can be a very distressing time for our patients living with dementia, which is why our specialist Dementia Care Team have created this Amazon Wish List.
Full of creative dementia friendly activities such as drawing, painting and reminiscence resources all of which stimulate the brain and can help people living with dementia express themselves.
Worcestershire Royal Hospital cares for many patients each year who suffer from dementia and anything we can do to make their stay in hospital just that little bit easier and more settled is imperative.
Patients are often unsettled and disorientated due to the change in their surrounding and this can make their hospital stay more challenging for them, their family and the nursing staff and medical teams looking after them.
Can you help members of our community and staff in providing materials for them to create Twiddle Muffs and Sleeves - any support will be much appreciated.
