Together we have raised £223,000!

Funds raised will reach across all maternity services in Worcestershire, providing added extras, requested by our midwives and families, who know exactly what is needed for our communities to have the very best possible experience.

Together we have funded:

  • The extension to the maternity bereavement suite at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, creating a new space for families to include a dedicated memory-making room where families can create lasting memories with dignity and care.

  • 23 buddy beds for the Lavender postnatal ward meaning partners can stay close, stay involved and be rested enough to support.

  • 9 jaundice meters for our Community and Continuity of Care team, helping midwives to take accurate, non-invasive jaundice readings and give an immediate answer to anxious new parents.

  • Enhancements to environments across hospitals, helping families to hold the moment together in a welcoming, warm and relaxing space.

The appeal has seen the community come together; with community members taking part in our Midwife Miles challenge event, where participants raised funds and clocked up the miles a community midwife team travels in a month throughout November and December 2025, and community members also hosting their own fundraisers. The appeal has also seen generous donations by the public, and the charity has also secured grants from local grant funders.

Sophie Burt, Head of Fundraising and Community Development at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity says:

“Reaching this milestone has been a brilliant experience, to see the community come together, and families supported has been wonderful to see. The appeal which will enhance experiences for families across Worcestershire is example of what Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity does, enhance experiences of care, through the provision of additional medical equipment, transforming environments and putting patients at the heart of our fundraising. Thank you to everyone who has supported appeal, together we can make a real difference across your local hospitals.”
