Holding a newborn baby. Holding hands. Holding space.

Let’s make sure every family feel supported, remembered, and held in their most precious moments.

Every donation will help families to have the very best possible experience; with every donation making a difference, can you help us to raise £223,000 to enhance maternity services?

From the moment expectant parents find out they are pregnant, to delivery and the days beyond, maternity services are there for them every step of the way.

With over 4,500 babies born across Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust every year, maternity services hold time for safe arrivals and hold hands throughout the hardest moments. They care for the whole family, but there are enhancements which could make the experience even better.

This appeal reaches across all our maternity services in Worcestershire, providing added extras, requested by our midwives and families, who know exactly what is needed for our communities to have the very best possible experience.

Some moments need to stay with us forever – let’s help families hold them.

When you give a gift of a donation, you’re helping someone hold the most important moment of their life, holding the moment means holding people in care and in comfort, will you help us please?

The appeal aims to fund:

Maternity Bereavement Suite extension

“It would mean everything to be able to give families the time and space to say goodbye, their way, with dignity and compassion.”

Steph, Maternity Bereavement Midwife

When the unimaginable happens, families need a quiet space to grieve, remember, and hold one another close.

Our existing maternity bereavement suite offers privacy, rest, and support away from the main delivery ward.

With your help, we can extend this space to include a dedicated memory-making room where families can create lasting memories with dignity and care.

In these deeply emotional moments, we aim to provide time, space, and comfort.

With your help, we can create a sanctuary where even the hardest moments can be held with care.

The extension will cost £135,000 to complete with every donation making a real difference.

9 additional jaundice meters

“Not having to wait for a diagnosis means giving the best care for the baby, but also clarity for the family.”

Edmee, Community and Continuity of Care Midwife

When answers are delivered fast, families can hold the moment without fear.

A simple jaundice test, done gently and right away, brings instant reassurance. Around half the babies born in Worcestershire’s hospitals will develop signs of jaundice in their first few weeks, and 1 in 20 babies will need urgent hospital treatment.

By having 9 additional jaundice meters available, midwives can take accurate, non-invasive jaundice readings and give an immediate answer to anxious new parents.

With your help, we can allow families to focus on holding the moment, with clarity and care.

An additional jaundice meter will cost £9,000, please if you can, show your support here.

The calm of the room. The softness of a light.

Loved ones by your side.

These are the details that hold the most precious moments in place.

In those early hours of a baby’s arrival – through the joy, the worry, the exhaustion – families should be able to hold the moment together in a welcoming, warm and relaxing space.

We aim to provide exceptional maternity care. Let’s ensure the space matches it.

£20,000 can shape warm, comforting environments that hold families together.

23 buddy beds

“Having loved ones close, well rested and ready to support is vital to everyone’s wellbeing.”

Trudy, Maternity Matron

Buddy beds are specialized pieces of equipment that transform from a comfy bedside chair to a fully reclinable bed.

The moments following a baby's birth are precious, life changing and pivotal. And very often severely sleep deprived for both the mother and their support network.

Buddy beds mean partners can stay close, stay involved and be rested enough to support. Providing these beds is just one of the ways we have listened and are aiming to improve facilities for everyone.

Each bed costs £1,000. Can you gift a good night’s sleep and get families off to the best start possible?
