We’re building a brilliant new Emergency Department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. To add the finishing touches that will make it exceptional, we need a little help from people like you.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust are building a new, bigger and better Emergency Department for Worcestershire Royal Hospital in the refurbished Aconbury East building.
This will include a dedicated children’s A&E department, X-ray and other diagnostic facilities, complemented by a range of same-day emergency care and short stay urgent medical services in the same building.
The new ED opens later this year, and with your help, we hope to add some fantastic finishing touches to it.
Entering an A&E Department is a frightening and stressful experience and the look and feel of the department can have a big impact on patients and their care.
By creating a calming and attractive space patients will feel less anxious, more cooperative and better able to engage in their ongoing care. These small improvements can make a huge difference to a patient’s outcome.
Funds are needed to create innovative artwork throughout the department’s main waiting areas and outdoor environments.
The new development has a dedicated paediatric department and waiting room just for children.
The ability to distract and entertain children greatly improves care and supports parents during upsetting and stressful experiences.
Funds are needed to create themed waiting spaces, distraction artwork in the treatment rooms and age appropriate entertainment systems for older children and young adults.
The need for mental health support is becoming increasingly prevalent for patients needing to access emergency care.
Spaces need to be calm, welcoming and patient focused but also safe and clinically appropriate for use.
Funds are needed to enhance two mental health assessment rooms within the new development.
One is for adults and one is dedicated to older children and young adults.
We are all dependent on our devices and never more so when trying to keep in touch with loved ones during a stressful time.
Funds are needed to install free charging points across the department which will take away the stress of running out of charge and save staff time in finding chargers.
These very special finishing touches are over and above what the NHS is able to fund but will make a big difference to patients’ wellbeing.
Every donation – no matter its size – will be very gratefully received.
So please, give a very special gift today and help make our new Urgent and Emergency Care department the very best it can be.
If you would like to make a donation please click the button below to donate via our Just Giving checkout.
Worcestershire businesses and organisations are being offered the opportunity to sponsor a space on our Thank You Wall which will be displayed in the Urgent and Emergency Care Department.
There are three levels of support available but they will all will make a huge difference to patients.
Each sponsor tile will be printed with your company’s logo and displayed as part of a dedicated Thank You Wall.
Would you be able to support The Worcestershire Royal Hospital Urgent and Emergency Care Appeal by holding your own fundraiser?
The extras we are able to add to the environment, to make patients feel comfortable, safe and relaxed, will depend on how much we raise. So those bake sales, sponsored challenges and quiz nights will ensure our new building is as exceptional as our staff.
Our charity team is here to help and support you in your fundraising so please get in touch today. You can also take a look out our top tips and fundraising ideas by clicking below.
